The proposed development includes:
A six lane running track with an eight lane straight and a natural grass infield
Combined long / triple jump runway and landing pits
Pole vault runway and landing pits
Formal parking areas to accommodate 127 cars and 24 cycles, with an additional coach parking area and overspill car parking area (grasscrete)
A new pedestrian and vehicular access into the site from the B1278
A perimeter site boundary fence around the track facility and car parking areas, with new hedgerow planting to the north of the site.
Floodlighting to serve the track facility and street lighting to serve the car parking area.
While it does not form part of the current application, an area within the site is identified as the potential location of a single storey changing facility / clubhouse. It is intended that a separate application will be submitted for this element of the scheme in due course.
The proposed new facility, will be managed as a community asset, for community and business use, and for use by other Co Durham athletics clubs.

A management group will be formed (which will include representatives from Business Durham, NETPark and other sports and community groups, as well as Sedgefield Harriers and the Friends of Sedgefield Harriers).
The management group will work with other groups aiming to develop sports facilities at NETPark and the track will be available for use by other clubs, schools etc.
